Join the Movement!

Join the movement to forever change the way we assess and treat movement dysfunction.  Be a part of the evolutionary change, how we evaluate athletes for a safer return to play.  I will send you my favorite articles from over the last decade that have been transformational in how we look at human movement.  Plus I will notify you when new blogs and articles are coming out.

From the time that I was in physical therapy school, I was taught that physical therapy is the “movement” profession.  However, aside from analyzing human gait, I never really felt I was fully equipped to truly assess movement patterns that put athletes at risk for injury.  This is where my mission began over 20 years ago.

There is a lot of information out there and lot of different movement assessments out on the market today.  Some good and some not so good.  How do we know?  Which ones should we use?  What are the most valid?  With all these new technologies coming out, are these as accurate as they proclaim?  It is confusing, I get it, I asked these very same questions.

My name is Trent Nessler, PT, MPT, DPT and I have been a sports medicine physical therapist and movement specialist for over 20 years.  Throughout my career, I have performed >10,000 movement assessments including high school, college and professional athletes.  I have worked not only with technology but directly with technology companies in the development of movement assessments.

My goals was simple – find a valid, reliable and efficient way to assess movement patterns in athletes that put them at risk for injury and performance issues , which could be efficient enough to be used in mass physicals.  This is why I created, ViPerform AMI (Athletic Movement Index), which is an evolution in movement assessment and mass movement capture using 3 D wearable technology.  With >1500 data points captured per assessment and >60,000 assessments performed, the mass data we collect helps us to constantly learn new things about movement we did not previously know and prior to reading about  in the research.  As I continue to learn, I want to pass this along to you so we can all help keep our athletes safe, in the game and performing better.

Become a research Partner!

One of the most challenging aspects in research today is standardized mass data collection.  With >450 systems across the US, Australia, Canada and the UK and >90M movement data points, I am your research partner.

Leveraging this data has allowed us to do research partnerships with some of the leaders in the industry.  Partnerships with Timothy Hewett, PhD (world renowned ACL researcher), American Sports Medicine Institute, Andrews Institute Children’s Health, and the Campbell Clinic have allowed us to truly be on the cutting edge of ACL prevention and rehabilitation.
